Privacy Policy
We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. That is why we have adopted this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy lets you know how your personal information is processed and used. We will take steps to use your personal information only in ways that are compatible with this Privacy Policy. The following policies are only in effect for the website, newsletters, discussion forums, bid documents, mailing lists and opt-in announcement lists available at www.mbtarealty.com , owned and operated by Greystone & Co., Inc. d/b/a Greystone (collectively hereafter the “Website”).
This Privacy Policy sets out how Greystone & Co., Inc. d/b/a Greystone (hereafter, “Greystone”) uses and protects any information that you give Greystone when you use this Website. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this Website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Greystone may change this Privacy Policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are aware of such changes. This Privacy Policy is effective from July 23, 2014.
What Information are we collecting and how are we collecting it?
Every computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name and a set of numbers that serve as that computer’s Internet Protocol “IP” address. When a visitor requests a page from the Website, our web servers automatically recognize that visitor’s domain name and IP address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed our site. We may use this information to examine traffic in aggregate, and to investigate misuse of the Greystone network, its users, or to cooperate with law enforcement. See also ‘WILL YOU DISCLOSE THE INFORMATION YOU COLLECT TO OUTSIDE THIRD PARTIES?’ (below).
We do not evaluate this information for specific individuals. Our Web servers do not automatically record email addresses of visitors. We may collect the following information:
- Name and Company Name
- Contact information including email address
- Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
- Other information relevant to the public bidding process, proposal process or customer surveys
What are we doing with the information we gather?
We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for:
- Record keeping
- Improving our services
- Periodically sending promotional emails about services or other information which we think you may find interesting
- Facilitating and augmenting the public bidding and/or proposal process
- From time to time, contacting you by email, phone, fax or mail for market research purposes
What are Cookies?
From time to time, the Website may send a “cookie” to your computer. A cookie is a small piece of data that is sent to your Internet browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. A cookie cannot read data off your computer hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Cookies do not damage your system. We use cookies to identify which areas of Greystone’s network you have visited or customized, so the next time that you visit, those pages may be readily available. Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better Website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. You can choose whether to accept cookies by changing the settings of your Internet browser. You can reset your browser so as to refuse all cookies, or allow your browser to show you when a cookie is being sent. If you choose not to accept these cookies, your experience at the Website may be diminished and some features may not work as intended.
What information do you collect when I register for something?
Greystone offers access to some services that may require registration. We may use your registration contact information to send notification to you of services or bid opportunities by email and/or postal mail. We may also use your IP address internally and share it with third parties. See ‘WILL YOU DISCLOSE THE INFORMATION YOU COLLECT TO OUTSIDE THIRD PARTIES?’ (below)
What other information do you request?
We may also request your email address or mailing address for the purposes of conducting a survey or to provide additional services (for example, newsletters, announcement or mailing lists, requests for proposals, invitations to big or information about conferences or trade shows). Whenever we request the identity of a visitor, we will clearly indicate the purpose of the inquiry before the information is requested. We maintain a strict “No-Spam” policy, which means we do not sell, rent, or otherwise give your email address to a third-party for marketing purposes, without your consent or as permitted by this Privacy Policy.
We may from time to time send email announcing new Greystone services. Except as stated above, Greystone will not send you email that you have not agreed to receive.
When you sign up for a Greystone discussion forum or register for the public bid or invitation process, your name or alias is recorded solely for purposes of maintaining your own account within the forum. This information is not used to monitor your activity, nor is it used to identify you outside the Greystone network.
What information do you collect when I register for the bid process?
If you are submitting a bid or proposal, we and any third party, may need to know your name, email address, mailing address and pertinent financial and credit information. This allows us to proceed with the bid/proposal process and to promptly notify you of the status. This information may also be used by us to notify you of related services. Financial and contact information will not be shared or sold to third parties for any purpose except as provided in this Privacy Policy without your express permission.
Certain Greystone forums use features that safeguard this information by using industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encrypted servers. SSL codes the information transferred between you and the server, rendering it unreadable to anyone trying to intercept the information. Some Greystone forums do not use SSL and thereby do not offer a secure coded way to transfer information.
Will you disclose the information you collect to outside parties?
Greystone may share your information within a family of affiliated Greystone companies and with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (“MBTA”).
Greystone will disclose personal information and/or an IP address, when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:

We are not responsible for such third party privacy policies or how they treat information about their users.
